Chance Marsteller falls in Farrell semifinal action

Former Kennard-Dale High School standout Chance Marsteller fell in the semifinals of the Bill Farrell Memorial International event in New York City over the weekend.

Wreslting in the 74 kilogram (163-pound) weight class, Marsteller won in the quarterfinals over Jevon Balfour, 5-0. Marsteller then lost to his former Oklahoma State teammate, Alex Dieringer, in the semifinals, 10-0.

Dieringer ended up winning the weight class with an 8-2 victory over Bekzod Abdurakhmonov.

It was Marsteller’s first wrestling event since his much-publicized run-in with the law in Clinton County in late August.

Marsteller dropped out of Lock Haven University, where he had transferred after leaving Oklahoma State. Marsteller wrestled for the Pride Wrestling club at the Farrell event.
