York Dispatch Bowler of the Week: Kenny Schaszberger
- Kenny Schaszberger recently rolled a triplicate 256 for a 768 series.
- The Red Lion bowler accomplished the rare feat at Suburban Bowlerama.
- Schaszberger started bowling as a youngster at Lion Bowl.
Bowler: Kenny Schaszberger, 27, of Red Lion.
Latest bowling accomplishment: Rolled a triplicate 256 for a 768 series at Suburban Bowlerama.
My reaction to the 256 triplicate: I was surprised that I did it. I was aware I had the opportunity, but I wasn't trying to roll a 256 in the last game. I know rolling a triplicate is unusual, particularly one this high.
I started bowling: At Lion Bowl when I was 8 or 10 years old.
Bowler I have learned the most from: My brother, Matt.
Part of my game I'm working on improving: Picking up the 7-pin.
Best bowling advice I ever received: Improve my attitude.
Most memorable bowling moments: My two perfect games and winning the York Area Handicap Doubles Tournament with Kim Schmuck.
Most non-bowlers don't realize: How difficult the sport is.
Advice I would give someone just starting to bowl: Have a lot of patience and don't give up.
Future goal: Roll an 800 series.
Note: Suburban Bowlerama will play host to the York Area Handicap Doubles Tournament, at 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 6. The format is scotch doubles. The handicap is 90 percent of 460. The entry fee is $45 per team. Bowlers who compete in five of the seven monthly tournaments will be eligible to win a 42-inch flat-screen television. For information, call (717) 848-1632.
