John Fetterman wins Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania primary election

PBA stars head to York's Colony Park North this weekend

  • The PBA Bowlers Supply/Storm Open runs from Friday through Sunday.
  • The even will be contested at Colony Park Lanes North in York.

Colony Park Lanes North will play host to the Professional Bowlers Association Bowlers Supply/Storm Open from Friday through Sunday.

The event is part of the QubicaAMF PBA Regional Tour.

PBA players expected to compete in the tournament include multiple-title holders Ryan Ciminelli, Bill O'Neill, Ryan Shafer, Brad Angelo and Johnny Petraglia.

Ryan Ciminelli

Bowlers Journal recently named Ciminelli, a left-hander from Cheektowago, New York, as the captain of the 2016 All-America Team. In July, he was runner-up to Jason Belmonte in the ESPY Best Bowler Award. Ciminelli, who owns six titles, also was runner-up to Belmonte for the 2015 PBA Bowler of the Year Award.

O'Neill, the 2005-2006 PBA Rookie of the Year, has seven titles. Shafer has five titles and 27 regional titles. He snapped a 12-year PBA title drought in 2015. Angelo owns two titles.

Petraglia is a PBA Hall of Famer with 14 titles. In 2012, he became the first player to earn either a PBA or PBA50 Tour title in six different decades.

On Friday, a practice session is scheduled for 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and the pro-am is at 7 p.m.

Lancaster bowler rolls to PBA regional win in York

Qualifying sessions will be held at 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The top 16 players advance to match play on Sunday. Action begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

First place is expected to pay $2,500. The tournament is free and open to the public.
