Davis shot a 74 to defeat York Catholic senior Andrew Forjan by three strokes for the Boys' 15-18 Blue Division crown.

The Mid-Summer Classic is considered a tour "major" because it is worth double the usual standings points. Those points are accumulated in an effort to qualify for the postseason George Barton Match Play Championship as well as the Junior War of the Roses team. Entering Monday's event, Davis was tied atop the standings with Logan Snyder at 23 points each, so the win should be a big help for Davis, since Snyder did not take part at the Out Door event.

Davis created his margin for victory on the front nine, posting a 38 to Forjan's 41. Both players shot 36 on the back set.

Devin Peart took the Boys' 15-18 White Division crown after defeating William Gekas on the first sudden-death playoff hole after each had carded an 83.

Michael DeRose was victorious in the Boys' 14-and-Under Green Division with his 82, which was three shots better than Karl Frisk.

Cailey Roman was the Girls' 18-and-Under Red Division champ with a 95, edging Jessica Tushingham by one stroke.

Jimmy Hook IV was the winner in the Nine-Hole A Division with a 43, seven shots better than runner-up Nicholas Fowler.

The YCJGA continues its summer tour on July 6 with a tournament at Hickory Heights.
