Mike Spangler leads way in Match Play bowling event

Mike Spangler dominated the second day of qualifying for the Bud Light York County Match Play Championship.

Spangler, who held a 26-pin lead after the first day, averaged 269 for six games as he expanded his lead to 174 pins.  Spangler rolled games of 278, 237, 300, 246, 279 and 279 at Hanover Bowling Centre on Sunday.

Four-time Match Play champ Adam Baer moved to second place, while Zack Zelger secured third place.

Rob Barnes and Jesse Chronister recorded perfect games.

The top 12 bowlers in the 52-bowler field advanced to match play with six games at East Lincoln Lanes on Saturday, starting at 2 p.m., and six games at South Hanover Lanes, beginning at 10 a.m.

The top 12 bowlers and their pin totals are: 1. Spangler (3,113); 2. Baer (2,939); 3. Zelger (2,886); 4. Jimmy Plessinger  (2,861); 5. Steve Carbaugh  (2,847); 6. Terry Miller (2,843); 7. Brent Hunter (2,841); 8. Jerpy Reinhart  (2,830); 9. Josh Coleman (2,823); 10. Eric Smith (2,816); 11. Adam Mobley (2,809); and Andy Carson (2,802).
