Central League Hall of Famers picked
- Kelly Raber, Rick Straub, John Devilbiss, Brad Stinar and Steve Gilbert are the new inductees for induction.
- The new hall of famers will be honored at a banquet at the Dover Firehouse on Saturday, March 19.
The Central League Baseball Hall of Fame has five new members.
The York County Central League Old-Timers Hall of Fame Committee has selected Kelly Raber, Rick Straub, John Devilbiss, Brad Stinar and Steve Gilbert for induction.
Raber, a second baseman at Dover, played in the Central League for 31 years. He had a lifetime average of .368.
Straub played for Pleasureville, Stoverstown and Vikings over 16 years as a catcher. His lifetime average was .315.
Devilbiss, a shortstop at Glen Rock, also enjoyed a 16-year career, with a lifetime average of .339.
Stinar, at pitcher at Stoverstown, had 84 victories over 14 years.
Gilbert will be inducted as an administrator. He was with Shiloh and Vikings over 25 years. He was a manager and a coach, and also collected 67 wins as a pitcher.
The new inductees will be honored at a banquet on Saturday, March 19, at the Dover Firehouse on Canal Road. The doors will open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. The price is $15 per person.
