Jay Paterno, the outspoken son of former Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno, is the latest addition to the 2016 York Area Sports Night program.

The 52nd annual program is set for Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at Heritage HIlls Golf Resort and Conference Center.

Jay Paterno served under his legendary father on the PSU coaching staff for 17 years, including 12 years as quarterbacks coach. He also played under his father as a reserve quarterback from 1986 through 1990.

His father was fired by the school in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal in November of 2011. A few months later, Jay Paterno was also fired by the school's new head coach, Bill O'Brien. A few weeks later, Joe Paterno died.

Since then, Jay Paterno and another former PSU assistant, Bill Kenney, has filed a lawsuit against the NCAA and Penn State University. They allege that their careers were irreparably damaged and are seeking more than $1 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

Jay Paterno has not coached since being fired.

Since then, Jay Paterno has written numerous columns and made multiple television and radio appearances defending his father and his role in the Sandusky scandal. He's also written a book called "Paterno Legacy: Enduring Lessons from the Life and Death of my Father."

Jay Paterno will sign autographs and have his book for sale at the Sports Night event.

Previously announced guests for the Sports Night event were all Hall of Famers: Bob Lilly (football), Tony Perez (baseball) and Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini (boxing).
