York YMCA's Brooks will be head coach at Swimming World Cup

York YMCA swimming head coach Michael Brooks will be the 2015 FINA Swimming World Cup head coach.

The event takes place Nov. 6-7 in Dubai. FINA is the international governing body for swimming.

The Swimming World Cup is an international series that started in 1979. The competition, which is made up of a series of short-course swimming meets, is open to all swimmers from FINA member countries.

Brooks has been the head coach of the York YMCA swimming team since 2006. In that time, he has led swimmers to the Olympic Trials, Senior Nationals, Junior World Championships, Junior Nationals and YMCA Nationals. Four of his swimmers have been named to USA Swimming's National Junior Team.

In 2011, his book, "Developing Swimmers," a guide for age group swim training, was published by Human Kinetics.
