YORK COLLEGE: Two soccer players, including Dover grad Herman, honored by CAC

Two York College soccer players have earned weekly honors from the Capital Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Maxine Herman, a Dover High School graduate, has been named the CAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal in both games to help the Spartans secure a CAC postseason berth with a pair of conference wins last week.

Sophomore Joel Teston has been named the CAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a pair of conference wins with four goals and three assists last week.

Spartans triumph in volleyball: The York College women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 Capital Athletic Conference victory over visiting Southern Virginia University on Monday night at Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

The Spartans improved to 12-16 overall and 3-4 in the CAC. The Knights fell to 6-20 and 1-6. The match scores were 25-16, 18-25, 25-16, 25-15. York was led by freshman Eryn Brady, who banged out 11 kills. Fellow freshman Brooke Krebs added 10 kills. Junior Sarah Wukitch handed out 31 assists. Senior libero Katherine Graziano recorded 26 digs.
