GIRLS' TENNIS: No. 2 doubles team lifts York Catholic to 4-3 win vs. Northeastern


A victory by the No. 2 doubles team lifted York Catholic to a 4-3 non-league girls' tennis triumph over Northeastern on Tuesday at Springettsbury Park.

York Catholic's Samantha Schwamb and Annie Javitt won the No. 2 match, 7-6 (5), 6-0. Schwamb, Javitt and Erin McBrairty also each won a singles match for the Irish.

For the Bobcats, Laura Zielinski won a singles match and combined with Courtney Hoff to win the No. 1 doubles match. Kirsten Harrison also won a singles match.


York Suburban 5, Dover 2: At Suburban, the Trojans captured four out of the five singles matches in straight sets. Bailey Cross, Lindsey Hartshorne, Liv Pindzola and Elizabeth Huh each captured a singles match for the Trojans. For the Eagles, Alex DiGiovanni won the No. 1 singles match in straight sets.

Kennard-Dale 6, Susquehannock 1: At Fawn Grove, the Rams received singles victories from Alyssa Miller, Clare Boone, Brooke Siebert and Kellie Dandy. For the Warriors, Jenny Sproul won a singles match.

Central York 6, Delone Catholic 1: At McSherrystown, the Panthers received singles victories from Yvonne Peters-Washington, Madison Mummert, Jenn Elder, Sophie Brink and Sarah Donner.

Dallastown 7, Littlestown 0: At Littlestown, the Wildcats received straight-sets singles victories from Christie Friedrich, Chloe Berridge, Angela Friedrich, Madi Reed and Morgan Kistler.

Red Lion 6, Bermudian Springs 1: At York Springs, the Lions received singles victories from Tori Austin, Helen Zeidman, Emily Zeidman and Bryn Leiphart.
