LOCAL GOLF NOTES: Forjan leads York Catholic to another York-Adams Division III triumph
Andrew Forjan fired a 1-under-par 70 at Mountainview Golf Course near Fairfield to lead York Catholic to another York-Adams Division III golf victory on Monday.
Dimitri Amalfitano added a 73 for the Fighting Irish, which finished with a 311 total, which was 26 shots better than second-place York Tech.
York Catholic improved to 15-0-0 on the season, while second-place York Tech moved to 12-3-0.
The only other golfers to break 80 on the day were Delone Catholic's Jacob Mueller and York Tech's Abe Miller.
OTHER LOCAL GOLF NOTES
Three local aces recorded: Three golfers recorded holes-in-one recently at York County courses.
Russell Sponseller had a hole-in-one on No. 8 at Briarwood East, using a 7-iron on the 168-yard hole. It was witnessed by Robbie Midkiff and Pete Nagle.
Nick Beard had a hole-in-one on No. 9 at Briarwood West, using a 4-hybrid on the 182-yard hole. It was witnessed by Bill Miller, Greg Preston and Ken Kohr.
Judd Collier had a hole-in-one on No. 6 at Out Door Country Club, using a 9-iron on the 160-yard hole. It was witnessed by John Brown, James Minkin and Gus Minkin.
Wrightsville man shoots 65: Wrightsville's Randy Young shot a 6-under-par 65 last week at the Highlands at Donegal golf course in Lancaster County.
He had one eagle, four birdies and no bogeys.
The round was witnessed by his 91-year-old father, Bill Young.
