A York County team is just a few wins away from qualifying for the Little League World Series.

The Red Land team recently won the Pennsylvania Little League championship in dominating fashion to advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regional.

Red Land advanced through district, sectional and state play with a perfect 13-0 record, outscoring the opposition by a whopping 208-8 margin. Red Land's closest victory during that run was 9-2 over Camp Hill.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional features a modified, double-elimination format. The event is being held in Bristol, Connecticut. The winner of the regional will advance to the Little League World Series in Williamsport from Aug. 20 through Aug. 30.

The Taney team, from Philadelphia, featuring Mo'Ne Davis, won last year's Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic Regional titles and garnered world-wide attention.

The other teams in Mid-Atlantic Regional are Capital City from the District of Columbia, Delmar from Maryland, Middletown-Odessa-Townsend from Delaware, Maine-Endwell from New York and Jackson Township from New Jersey.

Red Land's first game will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday vs. the New York team, which downed the Delaware squad, 9-6, on Monday. In Monday's other first-round contest, Maryland beat the District of Columbia, 10-5. Tuesday's other first-round game pits Maryland vs. New Jersey at 1 p.m.
