Mark Burnside pitched a complete-game six-hitter and did not allow an earned run on Monday evening to lead Mount Wolf to an 8-1 triumph over visiting Dover in Central League baseball action.
Burnside struck out out seven and walked one.
Burnside also helped himself at the plate by picking up two RBIs.
Also for Mount Wolf: Dan Dierdorff went 3-for-4, including a triple, with two runs scored, one RBI and one stolen base; Jake Krevetski had two runs scored and one stolen base; and Steve Pokopec doubled.
For Dover, Trent Raber went 2-for-3 with one run scored, while teammate John Miller went 2-for-4.
Second-place Mount Wolf improved to 19-9-2 with 40 points, while Dover fell to 12-19-0 with 24 points.
Glen Rock has already clinched the Central League regular-season crown.
OTHER CENTRAL LEAGUE GAME
Manchester 6, Dillsburg 3 (six innings): At Manchester, Austin Allison pounded out three hits, including two doubles, and drove in four runs to spark Manchester. He also scored a run. Dan Royer (three hits, run) and Logan Allison (two hits, double, two runs) also excelled for the winners. Dylan Tamecki had three of Dillsburg's five hits.
