OTHER LOCAL GOLF NOTES

Three aces recorded: Three holes-in-one were recorded in the area recently.

Ted Harris and Jay Barnhart had aces at Honey Run Golf Club.

Harris used a 5-iron to ace the 180-yard fourth hole. It was witnessed by Zach Mann, Alex Merson and Ronnie Merson.

Barnhart used a 3-hybrid to ace the 181-yard ninth hole. It was witnessed by Neal Dieterle, Dan Fetter and Steve Dubs.

Tom Henry had a hole-in-one on the 156-yard fifth hole on the South Course at South Hills. He used a 5-wood. It was witnessed by Tom Holbrook, P.J. Kirkegaard and Spence Topper.

Russel, Malehorn team for title at Briarwood: Bob Russel and Ed Malehorn teamed for a 61 to win the Capital Region Golf Championship at Briarwood East.

Marty Trimmer and Rick Hoke were second at 63, while John Tile and Ray Gantz were third at 65.
