Former Eagles safety Brian Dawkins to speak at York children's benefit
Former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins will be the featured speaker at the third annual Children's Benefit Dinner, hosted by the York County Youth Development Center.
Tickets are now on sale for the September 24 event, which starts at 6 p.m., at the Wyndham Garden York, at 2000 Loucks Road. Tickets will be $50 per person, and all proceeds will go toward the center's programs for at-risk youths.
Dawkins, a nine-time Pro Bowler who spent 13 seasons with the Eagles, is tied for the franchise lead in interceptions. The Eagles retired his No. 20 in 2012.
Attendees at the 350-seat dinner will also hear music from the Street Beats, a team from the center that uses recycled materials and buckets to create rhythms and music. The master of ceremonies will be 105.7 The X radio personality and standup comic Earl David Reed.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 717-840-7570.
