YORK COUNTY OLD-TIMERS BASEBALL

The York County Old-Timers Baseball League is accepting registrations for the upcoming season. The season will run 10 consective Sundays beginning on Sunday, Sept. 13, and run through Sunday, Nov. 8. Games will be played at York Township Park Field (McWilliams) and Shryock Field in Spry. To join, players must be or will turn 38 during the current year and mostly inactive in the Central or Susquehanna leagues, or be 40. Teams will be formed through a draft that will take place on Thursday, Aug. 27. The cost is $125 and includes a hat, T-shirt and paid umpires. The maximum number of players accepted is 260. All players registered by Monday, Aug. 24 are guaranteed a roster spot. Coaching positions and scorekeeper positions may also be available. The YCOBL is also accepting donations for its annual scholarship award to children and grandchildren of the league's past and present players. Four students each year are awarded $500 scholarships. Team sponsorships are also available at $125. The deadline to sponsor a team is Wednesday, Aug. 19. YORK CATHOLIC AA BINGO

York Catholic High School's Athletic Association is hosting Bingo on Sunday, Aug. 2, at the high school. Doors open at noon and games begin at 2 p.m. The cost is $30 at the door and includes 15 paper cards. Additional strips of three are available for $3 each. There are two jackpots of $500 and one $1,000 jackpot. Refreshments will be available for purchase. FALL SOFTBALL LEAGUE

The Coors Light White Rose Fall Softball League is accepting teams for the upcoming season. Registration packets can be picked up at the following locations: York City Recreation and Parks Office, from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.; Beer Barn in the Queensgate Shopping Center; and at the Memorial Park Stadium office Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The fall league is scheduled to start play on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Only the first 24 teams will be accepted. The entry deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 18. For information, call York City Recreation and Parks at (717) 854-1587.
