It turned out to be a short stay for the two York County teams in the Region 4 American Legion playoffs.

Both Northeastern and Pleasureville were eliminated in two games in the double-elimination tournament.

Northeastern, the York-Adams regular-season and playoff champion, fell to Linglestown on Sunday, 5-3, while York-Adams regular-season and playoff runner-up Pleasureville dropped a 6-3 decision to Penn Manor on Sunday.

On Saturday, Northeastern was beaten by Ephrata 21-4 in seven innings, while Pleasureville lost to Myerstown, 1-0.

On Sunday, Northeastern scored just once before the ninth inning on a suicide squeeze bunt by Drew Wolfgang that scored Devin Blymire.

Northeastern scored twice in the ninth on a two-run single by Jonah Latshaw that plated Brady Dolan and Blymire.

In the second, Northeastern saw another chance to score stifled when Dolan was thrown out at home on Blymire's double.

Linglestown reliever Tony Zimmerman pitched 6 2/3 innings to get the win. Zimmerman was also 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and run scored.

Pleasureville, like Northeastern, also rallied in the ninth inning, but came up short. Tyler Wagner started the ninth with a double and scored on an RBI single by Mike Davis, who had four of Pleasureville's six hits in the two Region 4 games. But the rally stopped there.

Pleasureville scored twice in the fifth on sacrifice flies by Caleb Lynch and Conner St. Pierre.

Colin Smeltzer pitched six innings for Pleasureville, while Wagner pitched two innings in relief.

Eric Snyder went 3-for-4 for Penn Manor with a two-run single and a double. Justin Henson got the win, pitching eight innings.
