LETTER: Vote for Ryan Supler for York City Council

York City
Ryan Supler is one of three individuals who has announced their candidacy for York City Council.

I support Ryan Supler for York City Council because I believe he will move York City forward. I met Ryan last summer when we were both working to elect Democrats. He was friendly, energetic and very involved in making the campaign successful. I got to really know Ryan when we worked together at York C.A.R.E.S. to provide Code Blue Shelter at Asbury United Methodist Church for the homeless.

He took his position seriously, was friendly, supportive and helpful with staff, volunteers and the individuals we were serving. We learned about Ryan’s desire to run for council and what some of his goals would be if he was elected. Several of us encouraged him to move forward with this goal and are happy that he has taken our advice. Ryan is intelligent, well-educated, articulate and highly motivated to make positive changes in York City.

Ryan’s involvement in York C.A.R.E.S., Friends and Neighbors, the food bank, and the Coalition on Homelessness shows that he is sincere and a caring person with a big heart. I believe he has a positive vision for our community.

Recently, I have seen a variety of Ryan’s Facebook posts that highlight many important events happening in York. Ryan is not afraid to get “his hands dirty.” He has been involved in cleaning the portable potties that have been set up for the homeless. He continues to be involved in giving out food, blankets, etc. at the food bank, as well as helping with neighborhood clean-ups. My last encounter with Ryan was at the encouraging and uplifting United for Change Community Rally in Continental Square. It is my privilege to support Ryan Supler for York City Council.
