LETTER: York’s best is yet to come

Pennsylvania

During this season of gratitude and blessings, I want to share my deep appreciation of our “Team York” city government and you.

Mayor C. Kim Bracey

When I count my blessings every day, I count our 315 city employees twice. Often unsung heroes, they keep the lights on and rise to new levels no matter the season or circumstance. They are not fair weather; they are workers for all seasons, and I appreciate all that they do.

I also count my blessings twice when thanking our over 100 volunteer members of city boards, authorities, commissions, neighborhood associations, and committees.

I’ve been deeply honored, humbled and blessed to serve as mayor of our great little city of 43,000 people with a big heart. With our merry band of "I love York" doers and movers like you, we are the little city that can, will and does.

As we gracefully wind down our celebration of York’s 275th birthday in 2016, we chart new trails and streams to cross in 2017 and beyond. We’re only mid-stream, my friends, and, with your continued support and spirit, we will keep charging forward together to exciting, new destinations.

Our York’s best is yet to come!

My warmest wishes to you and yours during this blessed season of love and renewal.

P.S. We warmly welcome you to join us on First Night in downtown York on New Year’s Eve for family friendly entertainment, at Central Market for the children’s countdown 6 to 8 p.m., and on Continental Square at midnight for the white rose drop and fireworks!
