LETTER: PINK Partners celebrate breast cancer survival

York Dispatch

On May 9, P.I.N. K. Partners (PINK), the York County breast cancer survivors nonprofit, celebrated its 10th anniversary with a 5K Fun Run at John Rudy Park. The purpose was to share our celebration with the community and to award three $1,000 scholarships to York County high school students: Alea Echterling, Dallastown; Adrianna Clinton, Red Lion; and Madison Herman, Dover.

As with prior walks, helping to make the day such a success were Walgreen managers Jessica Flanders and Carissa Voelker and their staffs. They provided assistance to the PINK members before and after the walk, gave out numerous gifts to attendees and provided water for all. PINK is very appreciative of all Walgreens has done to help us raise over $70,000, which has been used over the past 10 years to provide diagnostic financial assistance, scholarships and sunshine bags to York County residents whose lives have been affected by breast cancer.
