LETTER: Walker committed to York
I know Sandie Walker. I worked with Sandie Walker on the York City School Board, through her work with the city as a youth coordinator and as a volunteer within the York community. Sandie Walker will make an excellent member of the York City Council because she knows the city, its people and its problems and is committed to making life better for all.
I have lived for many years within the city. I understand the problems affecting families, senior citizens and youths in city neighborhoods. As a volunteer, as a homeowner and as a former school board member, I worked for years to make life in York better for all.
Sandie Walker has been there since she was a child, assisting her father, Sandy Walker, with his efforts through York's Helping Hands for the Homeless. Sandie graduated from York High with honors. She attended and graduated from the University of Richmond and then returned to York in order to serve her community as her dad and mom taught her to do.
Sandie Walker has the dedication and commitment to public service that the people need on city council. I urge all residents to support Sandie Walker.
