I would like to pass on a huge thank you to the people and businesses of York for their past and continued support of York Little Theatre. This cultural gem has touched thousands of lives in our community and continues to provide an outstanding opportunity to experience theater at its best.

Through the leadership of Mike Ausherman, Marc Smith and the other board members, York Little Theatre weathered the storms of a tough time. But it was the community, both businesses and people, who are the ones who are truly to be thanked. They stepped forward and said that this theater is important in our community. And through their efforts, we now have a renewed vibrancy at York Little theatre that shines in the improvements to the physical structure and in the outstanding quality of the productions available to the audiences.

If you haven't been there recently, I encourage you to attend. The recent production of "Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" by Stephen Sondheim was incredible; from the cast to the orchestra to the set. Few community theaters will attempt a production of this scale or difficulty. Following that was "August: Osage County," a contemporary drama well-performed in the studio theater. The cast was magnificent and the staging excellent. Our next production is Disney's "Peter Pan, Jr."

York Little Theatre has touched so many lives over the decades of our existence. The theater reaches out to everyone in the community from its volunteers, performers, business partners, children in the education programs and especially our audiences. Thank you for your decades of support and for being part of the YLT family.

In May, we'll announce our 83rd season; an accomplishment of which any theater would be proud. But the true pride and thanks goes to the community. Without them, there is no YLT.
