LETTER: Libraries did not cause opioid crisis
Pennsylvania
It concerns me when we take $300,000 from library programs that help build a well-educated, problem-solving community and spend it on treating an opioid crisis which is a symptom of a community that is neither well-educated or problem-solving.
When will we learn that to eliminate symptoms effectively we have to correct the causes? I don’t think the York Library System caused the area’s opioid crisis.
