Assigned to work with youth, former York City cop now facing sex crime felonies involving teen girl

LETTER: An insider’s view of the Pam Gay/Dave Sunday duo

As the husband of Coroner Pam Gay, I have had the privilege during the last 3-plus years of observing the criminal justice system and the fight against opioids in York County like almost no other person.

I hardly knew Chief Deputy Prosecutor Dave Sunday when the Heroin Task Force was founded in 2014 but boy, have I been impressed. The dedication of Dave Sunday to his job is like no other person that I have seen in county government, beside my wife.

As professional teammates, they are simply an amazing duo. Sometimes it is Pam that floats a thought and it just spurs Dave into incredibly positive ideas for fighting the scourge of drugs and helping people with treatment, and sometimes it is vice-versa. Dave and Pam are working by phone late into the evening many nights and most weekends, collaborating on casework. It is artful to watch. I sometimes wish others could see their professional interaction for just one day. It would make you so proud that we have public servants like this.

We have never had a pair of local officials work together to accomplish so much good in just three short years. And it is for this reason, that I ask you to consider voting for Dave Sunday for DA. It would be such an encouragement to Pam to press on and continue the daily fight against illegal drugs in York County with a professional partner of the caliber of Dave Sunday.

I’m told almost every day by everyone that they have never seen anyone as proud of their wife as me. But, I am equally as proud of what Dave Sunday and Pam have done as a team. I ask you to please keep your team intact.

Vote Dave and Pam — A force for good!
