LETTER: Support PA’s clean power plan
We must support the clean power plan in Pennsylvania. Climate change is real, and its effects are already evident.
Air pollution undoubtedly contributes to poor health and costs the state and country untold millions of dollars in health costs and lost productivity annually. One member of my family died during an asthma attack in 2001, and another two remaining members each suffer from debilitating allergy and asthma conditions. They are under active treatment, and still the symptoms which they experience on a daily basis are tiredness, loss of breath, and headaches.
We must not regard clean air and clean energy as being in some either/or relationship with a strong economy. In fact, just the opposite is becoming more and more apparent; Renewable and sustainable energy sources are our future.
Now is the time to act. We can talk until we are blue in the face. We should conserve energy, use solar panels, and support the clean power plan.
