LETTER: Questions about York City School District staff increases

Pennsylvania
.

Regarding the York City School District hiring more workers:

Mr. Holmes,

I see you have recommended staff increases with the additional funding the district is receiving from the state this year. I'm sure you have studied how to best use this money, but I, as a stakeholder (i.e. taxpayer) want to understand a few things.

Did you set clear improvement goals that must be met by spending these funds, and if so, what are they?

If the goals are not met, then what?

Are you being clear to everyone what we will do if we don't get the additional funding in future years? Will we cut these positions without paying significant severance packages or will you be coming back to me and the other tax-paying citizens of the city and looking for additional funding?

I look forward to your answers. Thank you.
