LETTER: Pugliese smear campaign disappointing
Voters should be disappointed in those who are behind the coordinated smear campaign against Anthony Pugliese, candidate for the 92nd House seat currently held by Rep. Mike Regan. These attacks center on a single theme — Mr. Pugliese’s prior employment and public service. As Mr. Pugliese’s boss during his time in public service, I will focus my comments there.
Mr. Pugliese and I both served on former Gov. Tom Corbett’s legislative affairs team together from 2011-2012. I can tell you first hand that when others attack Mr. Pugliese in a coordinated smear campaign about his public service, they are ignoring the significant effort and teamwork that is involved in achieving conservative policy goals like reducing spending, creating jobs, and strengthening 2nd amendment rights.
Mr. Pugliese knows first-hand exactly what it takes to make these conservative policies a reality. He was in the arena as part of a team that achieved these goals. And it wasn’t easy. Some of these achievements were made all the more difficult by the entrenched special interests who were supported by professional political fundraisers. In spite of them, these conservative goals were achieved. It did take a team effort, and Mr. Pugliese was a critical part of that team. Now taxpayers would be served well to make Mr. Pugliese a member of their team by electing him as state representative.
