LETTER: When it comes to employment, the ship is afloat, but . . .
The other week I read one story that quoted a representative from the York County Economic Alliance, that the unemployment rate was so low that we are essentially at full employment.
A couple days later another article quoted a well-respected economist that the economy is indeed doing fine and that we are seeing job growth in all major sectors, except manufacturing and energy (including mining, oil, natural gas etc).
So let me get this right, the ship is afloat but only the engine compartment is flooded, correct?
