LETTER: Let UN care for refugees

York Dispatch
Heidi Storey, who now lives in York County, traveled to Macedonia recently to visit her family. She took along the makings of gift bags for Syrian refugees.

In regards to the currant Syrian refugee crisis, I have been thinking of all the unrest across Europe and in regards to the horrible terror attacks in Paris.

Most of Europe is closing their boarders to these people, Americans are resisting having them come here, and I don't want them here.

Even the best screening possible cannot be trusted with regards to our country's security and safety. The Middle East countries governments don't have comprehensive records of their own people, how can we get and trust it?

So to those ends, why do they have to come here and risk danger?

Not to mention the drain on our system, economy and provisions. Why can't the United Nations create a "Safe Zone" in the Middle East to bring these people to and provide for them there? No need to transport them here or in Europe.

I, as an American, feel this is a far more intelligent and safer solution to this problem. Then when the country these people are from is settled they can go home.
