LETTER: Thanks to Codorus supervisors for industrial farm vote

York Dispatch

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the people who showed up at the recent Codorus Township Supervisors meeting to support the supervisors as they passed a ground-breaking health ordinance. Passing the ordinance is the first step in protecting our community from the dangerous effects of an industrial confined animal feeding opperation.

Please understand: The health ordinance does not prevent the industrial facility from being built. The Pennsylvania ACRE law protects these corporations that would pollute our air and water under "the right to farm." And Hillandale has made it clear they are planning a major production hub here in south-central Pennsylvania — that means millions of chickens and the health and safety problems that type of industry brings.

Please join the Friends of York County Family Farms in protecting family farms and opposing these agricultural factories. Go to our website at www.stopthechickens.org to join us.
