LETTER: Wolf budget protects seniors

York Dispatch

Gov. Tom Wolf's proposed budget will enact health care reforms that will allow more senior citizens to receive long-term care care while remaining in their homes. I can't tell you how pleased I am to hear a politician taking a legitimate interest in a real issue.

It seems like the state's general practice toward senior citizens who need long-term care revolves around sticking us in some nursing home and forgetting about us. With Wolf's proposed budget, he's setting aside the extra money to ensure seniors are treated in their own homes.

In fact, it actually saves the state money in the long run: almost $2,500 per senior per month. This will offset over $160 million in costs. Frankly, I can't think of a scenario that's more of a win-win.

It's just another reason to support the governor's budget proposal.
