LETTER: Thanks for hoppy fundraiser
The York County Heritage Trust's History Untapped is in the books, and Saturday night's event was unique among brewfests: a smaller, more intimate experience with craft beer tastings, fabulous food pairings and live music, set in the environs of the Agricultural & Industrial Museum. Furthermore, throughout its 18-year history, the event has set itself apart as one of the few beer festivals that is truly a nonprofit fundraiser.
Festival goers had the opportunity to taste 46 beers from 20 different brewers and enjoyed food pairings offered by 10 different restaurants and caterers.
We especially want to thank so many who made History Untapped possible:
•Our Sponsors Metro Bank, Gift Horse Brewing, York Water Co. Utz and our media sponsor, WSOX.
•The brewers and distributors, who brought unique beers to taste, and talked with guests about their unique approaches to brewing
•Our "house band," The Bottomfeeders, who rocked the house with a great mix of oldies and current pop.
•Our restaurants and caterers, who provided food to compliment the beers served.
•Our ticket buyers, who put the "fun" in "fundraiser."
Our many volunteers, who poured beer, served food and helped with setup.
Above all, the trust welcomes the opportunity to invite the community inside our museums, library and archives, and historic sites, and our annual fundraisers are just one way to make that happen.
Summer is the perfect time to visit the trust, whether at History Untapped, Family Day, Acting Camp or a visit to tour with your family, friends and out-of-town guests. Visit our website at www.yorkheritage.org and become inspired by York County history.
