Flagger David Reburn of York City works a construction site on Mount Rose Avenue in Spring Garden Township last week.

A lane on a portion of Interstate 83 will be temporarily closed to allow for construction along the median, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

The left lane on I-83 northbound between Exit 22 and Locust Lane in Manchester Township will be closed starting at 9 a.m. Friday. The work is expected to finish by 6 a.m. Monday.

Following that, the right lane on the same portion of I-83 will be closed Monday through Wednesday.

Work in the right lane will take place in the overnight hours, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to PennDOT.

Construction on I-83 will include milling and paving the shoulder along the median, PennDOT said.
