Those driving in York City over the weekend may face a few road closures, with several block parties scheduled.

In collaboration with York City, the Bridging the Gaps Community Outreach Ministries are hosting a "Let There be Peace" block party Saturday, July 29, in the 600 block of West Princess Street, according to a York City Police news release.

The block party will feature live music, arts and food. The gathering will close the 600 block of West Princess Street and restrict parking from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the release states.

A few blocks away, North Penn Street will close at Smyser Street for the launch of the Penn Street Art Bridge at noon.

That section of North Penn Street will close from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Sunday, July 30, the "East End Community that Cares" organization will host a block party for current and former Wellington Homes residents, according to a city news release.

The block party will be held at Aries Park, closing Pattison Street between King and Edison streets from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., the release states.
