Halfway through her first term representing the greater York City area in the state Capitol, state Rep. Carol Hill-Evans is ready for more.

Hill-Evans announced her bid for re-election Wednesday, Dec. 20, “launching a grass-roots campaign” to highlight her voting record in Harrisburg and her services for constituents in her home district, according to a news release.

Hill-Evans’ district office on East North Street in York City offers services that are “crucial to ensuring that constituents of the 95th (District) are fully represented,” including assistance for all state-level services and property-tax rebates, according to the release.

“I’m very proud of my strong Democratic voting record in Harrisburg, but we’ve got a long way to go,” Hill-Evans said in the release. “I want to be a part of consequential solutions, and that means finding common ground and working with my Republican colleagues on bipartisan legislation that tackles the issues on which we can agree.”

Hill-Evans will kick off her re-election campaign with a fundraising event at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at The Handsome Cab, located at 106 N. George St., according to a news release.

As the only Democrat representing York County in the Pennsylvania General Assembly, Hill-Evans serves on the House’s Education, Local Government, Urban Affairs and Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness committees.

Hill-Evans is a member of the Prayer Caucus, the Black Caucus and the Women’s Caucus in Harrisburg.

The 95th House District covers York City, West York, West Manchester Township and Spring Garden Township.
