The office, at 11 E. Market St., will serve as a hub for local efforts to send the presumptive Democratic nominee to the White House, according to a news release from the campaign.

Organizers and volunteers will run phone banks, hold organizing meetings and lead canvasses from the office, the release said.

The office opened at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and York City Mayor Kim Bracey and state Rep. Kevin Schreiber, the Democrat who represents the city and surrounding areas, attended.

Clinton, the former secretary of state, is expected to face Republican Donald Trump in the Nov. 8 general election.
