Supporters to Feel the Bern in Red Lion

Voters who are feeling the Bern can gather for a barnstorming event to promote Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in Red Lion on Wednesday.

The rally will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Red Brick Bakery and Tea Room, 55 N. Main St., according to a news release from George Sanders, a grass-roots organizer who is of no apparent kinship to the candidate.

Supporters of the Vermont senator will be given information during the event on how to become more involved in the campaign.

“We’re striving to use this event to identify Bernie supporters in the area who are willing to donate even just an hour of their time a week until the primary," George Sanders said.

Bernie Sanders will face off against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and California businessman Rocky De La Fuente in Pennsylvania's Democratic primary. On the Republican side, businessman Donald Trump faces Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich. The primary is April 26.

Bernie Sanders is, so far, the only candidate with a physical presence in south central Pennsylvania. His camp opened a campaign office in Harrisburg recently.
