York County commissioners are hitting the road to hold a series of meetings throughout the county starting Wednesday.

Commissioners will hold three of their official meetings and an informal community meeting outside of the county administrations building where the meetings are normally held.

“Our goal is to engage residents to learn of their concerns, to explain the role of county government and offer assistance in any way we can," Susan Byrnes, the president commissioner, said in a news release.

Byrnes first announced commissioners will take meetings out to the public last month.

The first meeting away from the administration building will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday at William Penn Senior High School, 101 W. College Ave., in York City.

Meeting schedule: Here's a look at the scheduled for the rest of the meetings on the road:

The York County commissioners typically meet weekly at 10 a.m. on  Wednesdays at the county administration building, located at 28 E. Market St. in York City. Agendas for meetings, as well as meeting minutes, can be found online at yorkcountypa.gov under the "county administration" tab.
