TNA wrestling champs dive in at the York Fair


The fair might just go down with a fight.

This year TNA Impact Wrestling will be returning to the York Fair's grandstand Thursday, bringing some of its champions along.

TNA, or Total Nonstop Action, is a national wrestling promoter based in Nashville. The promotion series started in 2002.

The show will feature some of the nation's top wrestling stars. Here is a look at those expected to be making an appearance:

•Jeffy Hardy: He is also known as the "Charismatic Enigma." Hardy is known for his performances involving tables, ladders and chairs when it comes to his fighting matches. Hailing from Cameron, North Carolina, he also enjoys motocross and singing. Hardy is a former heavyweight world champion.

•EC3: Ethan Carter III made his Bound For Glory debut in 2013. The Florida native is a nephew of TNA President Dixie Carter.

•James Storm: Many call him "The Cowboy." He has been with the TNA group since it formed in the 2000s. He captured the TNA World Tag Team Championship 11 times. He is also a former world heavyweight champion, beating Kurt Angle in 2011 to take the title. Storm hails from Leipers Fork, Tennessee.

•Gail Kim: The Canadian native was the first Knockouts Champion. She's one of the top female wrestlers in the organization. She never misses an opportunity to work out.

•Bobby Roode: Roode is the longest-reigning world heavyweight champion in TNA wrestling history. Roode has been a top contender to the world title since joining in 2004. Roode, who is from Canada, played junior league hockey.

•Rockstar Spud: Spud arrived in TNA wrestling by way of the "British Boot Camp" series. Spud is in charge of all the daily scheduling for the organization and will host the event.

The grandstand will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets start at $15. Information provided by the TNA website.
