UPPER CHICHESTER, Pa. – Authorities say a Pennsylvania man shot his wife and then led police on a chase through Philadelphia before fatally shooting himself.

The 41-year-old man went to the woman’s Upper Chichester home around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, even though she had a protection from abuse order against him. They began arguing and the man shot the woman four times.

The woman and her three children ran to a nearby firehouse for help, while police found the man parked at nearby rest stop on I-95.

A police chase ensued, and the man struck a police car and hit a barrier in Philadelphia. Authorities say he eventually shot himself in the head, though it’s unclear if that occurred before or after the crash.

The woman’s children weren’t hurt. No officers were injured or fired shots during the chase.
