Presto Fast Italian plans fourth expansion in East York
Presto Fast Italian announced it would be expanding to a fourth central Pennsylvania location, this time in East York.
The build-your-own pasta chain is set to open later in November in York Town Center, located at 2815 Concord Road, where Five Guys had operated.
Customers are able to build their own pasta dish, combining different sauces, pasta, vegetables and protein. The chain is operated by O.N.E. Hospitality Group.
“Think Chipotle or Subway, but for fresh pasta,” said owner Toni Calderone in a news release.
Presto’s first location opened in 2019 in Lititz, Lancaster County, followed by its second restaurant spot in York's Central Market.
Its third location, located in York Delco Plaza had a grand opening in July but closed for renovations.
That West York location, at 1115 Carlisle Road, was scheduled to reopen Friday.
Taking over the former Bruster’s Ice Cream in West Manchester Township, the company utilized the building's drive-thru capabilities to serve customers contactless food during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We wanted to use that model as a prototype for future locations," said Calderone, adding that the restaurant group wants to experiment with different locations before expanding regionally as a franchise.
