York City officials are urging residents to clean out any nearby storm drains in preparation of heavy rainfall expecteon Thursday.

The area is expected to receive between 1 and 3 inches of rainfall associated with the remnants of Hurricane Zeta. Cleaning drains by removing leaves or trash can ensure that water can drain freely, said Lettice Brown, the city's MS4 coordinator.

The city has also requested that construction companies remove any sort of drain protections, such as filter socks and inlet bags.
