WellSpan Health is now offering drive-thru flu shot clinics, and York County residents will have the chance to get their vaccines as early as Thursday afternoon.

Residents will be able to get their flu vaccines from the comfort of their cars from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday at WellSpan Hayshire Family Practice, 2775 N. George St.

"Although we've been doing a lot of remote visits, we cannot virtually give a vaccine," said Dr. Mark Goedecker, vice president and regional medical director of WellSpan Health. "That is why we're reimagining how we are offering the vaccine this year."

Though a flu shot will not protect individuals from COVID-19, Goedecker said it's important to get one to help lower the severity of becoming sick.
