York City fire department cancels memorial service, awards ceremony

The annual York City fire department memorial service and awards ceremony scheduled for this fall have been canceled because of COVID-19 restrictions, fire officials said Friday.

The memorial service was scheduled for Sep. 27 and the awards ceremony for Oct. 15.

The service and ceremony are expected to be held as a combined event in 2021, according to a news release.
