York City sets date for October's Trunk or Treat event

York City has set the date for its annual Trunk or Treat event, offering a safe environment for the city's children who want to get their candy fix on Halloween.
This year's event will take place 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, located at 839 W. Market St. The event is free to the community and will include food, prizes and a bounce house.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. The York City Police and Fire Department also will be attending to interact with the community.
Those who wish to bring a vehicle should contact Tina Charles at yorkcitytrunkortreat@gmail.com or LaQuinn Thompson at lthompson@stmatt.org. Registration is free.
Those who bring a vehicle with a trunk of candy or school supplies could win an award for the most creative trunk display.
