On Tuesday, Bell Socialization Services officially opened its new Community Hospital Integration Project Program apartments, Jefferson Towers, or as the residents know it, Yolanda's Place.

Ten people were moved from the Yorkshire Apartments on East Market Street in Springettsbury Township to the new apartments on Jefferson Avenue in York City in early June.

For resident Nelda Perez, the move to the apartment means the end of two years of living in temporary Bell locations.

"This is my castle," said Perez as she showed off her apartment to attendees of the ribbon cutting and open house who congratulated her and commented on her decorating.

The new apartments are under the leadership of Yolanda McCanic, the program coordinator, hence the name.
