Springettsbury supervisors name new police chief

Staff report
Todd King is the new chief of the Springettsbury Township Police Department.

Springettsbury Township Police Lt. Todd King is being promoted to chief and will replace Dan Stump, who is leaving the position Sept. 23, according to a township news release.

“Lt. King’s career experience with the Springettsbury Township Police qualifies him to take this next leadership role,” township Supervisor Chairman Mark Swomley stated in the release. “I and my fellow supervisors, George Dvoryak, Charles Wurster, Justin Tomevi, and Bob Cox unanimously support Lt. King as Chief of Police and congratulate him on his promotion and look forward to working with him as Chief.”

King has been with the department since 1997, according to the township. He was one of four candidates interviewed and one of two selected for interviews at a public meeting earlier this week, the release states.
