West Manchester Township Police Chief John Snyder said in a news release Friday that officers responded to the crash just after 12:20 a.m. Thursday.

March had been riding his motorcycle west in the area of 4025 W. Market St. when a vehicle headed east turned left into March's path, hitting his motorcycle, the coroner's office said.

The vehicle was a 2005 Saturn driven by Nilda Williams, of York City, police said. She was trying to turn into the Sheetz at the time, officials said.

March, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle, according to officials.

March was taken from the scene to York Hospital about 1 a.m. Thursday, but he succumbed to his injuries Thursday night, according to the coroner's office.

His cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.

Police said the incident is still under investigation.
