A York City woman who crashed into a tree in Dover Township nearly two years ago succumbed to her injuries earlier this week, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

The coroner's office said in a news release Monday, Oct. 8, that 48-year-old Kelly Vitale was pronounced dead Sunday, Oct. 7.

Vitale crashed into a tree after trying to avoid a deer in the 5800 block of Bull Road on Jan. 22, 2017, the release states. She lost control of her vehicle while trying to avoid the deer, causing her to crash into the tree, the coroner's office said.

Her condition continued to decline following the crash, and she succumbed to her injuries Sunday afternoon. The coroner's office said she suffered multiple medical complications following the crash.

Vitale's cause of death was multiple complications from the crash, with the manner accidental.

There will not be an autopsy.
