No customers or employees were injured when a truck crashed into a Giant grocery store in West Manchester Township the night of Friday, Sept. 28.

Township Fire Chief Clif Laughman said the truck struck the store on the side closest to Five Below, where Giant's beer garden is located.

“It knocked off one of the main support columns of the porch,” he said, adding that the impact sent some cinder blocks through the glass and into the beer garden.

The chief said the damage to the building was estimated at $62,000. The driver, he said, was not seriously injured.

Laughman said the store was operating  normally.

"They were able to board up the broken windows at the beer garden," he said.

West Manchester Township Police are investigating.
